Nasreen has been a resident of Whatcom County since 1992. She is a Muslim American, born to East African parents of South Asian descent, and a mother of two biracial girls. She has worked in the health field for many years and recently completed completed her A.S. Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Whatcom Community College. She has been a consistent advocate for patient-centered care and empathy. She also engages in interfaith dialogue and participates in building cross-racial solidarity through her personal activism.
