Weaving Communities Together Through Learning
Our Mission
Whatcom Intergenerational High School envisions learning designed with students and supported by elders. This approach generates deep inquiry skills, thoughtful interactions, and critical consciousness, ensuring that every young person can be fully prepared for college and able to contribute to a more just and sustainable world.
Our goal is that every student has access to the resources and support necessary to make college a reality and to achieve a post-secondary degree.
By the time our students graduate from WIHS, they will possess the self-knowledge, skills, competencies and dispositions to craft a post-secondary plan that lines up with their long-term goals -- and to implement that plan. We encourage a post-secondary (college or vocational school) degree as leading to career pathways and life success.
What Makes WIHS Unique:
WIHS is an intentionally small and intentionally diverse program where students are well-known, valued, and have flexibility to personalize their learning program.
WIHS Is a place where generations come together to support one another, create community, and share life wisdom.
